Benjarong ("five colors") is Thailand's most prestigious ceramic art. Originally created for royal use, each piece is hand-painted with intricate Thai patterns using at least five colors on white porcelain. The craft originated in the Ayutthaya period and represents the height of Thai decorative arts.
